LEAF ON DARK WATER (# 215)

I just finished a new pastel piece called “LEAF ON DARK WATERS (#215),” and it’s basically me having a quiet chat with an autumn leaf. Imagine this little orange guy lying there, all veins and edges perfectly outlined, soaking up the spotlight while lounging on a dark, moody background that’s basically the water playing the role of stage crew, making sure the leaf’s colors pop just right. It felt fun to work with that contrast—kind of like a simple duet between brightness and shadow where every detail gets to shine in its own way. Sometimes all it takes is one perfect leaf to remind you how the smallest things hold their own kind of magic.
