I am trying to experience this reflections on a small soft pastel Canson Mi-Teintes paper 9X12 in. mounted on rigid board.
This is a study and I am trying to draws the viewer into a tranquil yet vivid encounter with nature’s quiet drama, using the inherently tactile and luminous qualities of soft pastels to great effect. The decision to focus on reflected tree trunks or branches, rather than their direct images, lends the piece an intriguing sense of abstraction and invites contemplation about perception and reality. The vertical forms fractured and softened by rippling water tickle the imagination, allowing you to balance between recognition and dreamlike ambiguity.
I don’t really know if I succeed. I will wait for the comments of those that will see this painting.
